The District Mineral Foundation (DMF) is a trust set up as a non profit body established under the Mines and Minerals Development Regulation Amendment Act, 2015 in India. In this regard, DMFT Ranipet was registered on 18/05/2020 and has been working for the developmental needs of people in the mining affected areas. DMFT Ranipet implements the government formulated PMKKKY schemes (Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana). Under PMKKKY, at least 60% of the DMF fund has been allocated to high priority areas such as drinking water supply and sanitation, health care, education, pollution control, environment preservation, women and child welfare, the welfare of the aged and disabled people, and skill development. The other 40% has to be utilized under other priority sectors such as physical infrastructure, irrigation, and energy and watershed development to enhance the quality of living in mining affected areas.
